Peter heads up Vision Formers, a specialist consultancy that helps visionary technology businesses get product to market and turn ideas into reality.
Peter works with leaders of growth businesses to support the translation of the founding vision into commercial products and services. He offers a range of business and professional mentoring growth services, and business growth acceleration support services. He thrives in high growth and high uncertainty contexts, applying energy and focus, along with a good dose of pragmatism to accelerate commercialisation of great ideas.
Peter mentors entrepreneurs, business leaders and managers in facing challenges and growing themselves, their businesses and their team.
Peter provides a wide range of practical business acceleration services, for example: investor pitch preparation, grant application, IP capture, key hire recruitment, product road mapping, lead customer acquisition and customer delivery management.
Peter has driven accelerated growth at a number of start-ups and scale-ups, most recently at Signapse as Head of Projects, at EMSOL as VP Product, Navenio as Head of Product and Iotic Labs as Chief Operating Officer.
Peter provides business and personal growth mentoring services, on a private basis, as well as through structured programmes such as the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Advance innovators’ programme, and the UK government’s Help to Grow Management Course.
Peter is an active member of CW (Cambridge Wireless), having been a board member, five times elected by the membership, from 2009-2024. Peter is a long-standing CW SIG Champion who today co-leads the Artificial Intelligence SIG and has conceived and delivered many innovative and successful events along with his fellow co-champions. For six years, Peter successfully led the team delivering the flagship Future of Wireless International Conference for CW.
Peter joined the Historic Towns Trust as a Trustee in 2024, utilising his business and growth skills, and is leading the trust’s educational outreach initiatives.
Since 2022, Peter has been working with Digital Catapult as Programme Manager, with overall responsibility for delivering UKTIN, funded by the UK’s Department for Science Innovation and Technology (DSIT).
Peter is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Member of the British Computer Society (BCS) a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Member of the Association of Business Mentors, is an alumni of the Cambridge Judge Business School, and holds an honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Kent. Peter is co-author of the 2012 classic The Essentials of Mobile Handset Design.
Peter is a very curious, learning and growth oriented individual, and as well as deep technology topics such as AI, has wide ranging interests including early medieval history, urban architecture, cosmology, theology, local and family history, and healthy living. When relaxing, Peter enjoys visiting nature and heritage sites, along with a spot of bird-watching.
